These records are constitutions of various workers’ societies and associations in Philadelphia, such as coach painters, brick makers, shipwrights, saddlers, carpenters, bookbinders and so on.  They were selected from the original records on file at the state archives as: Record Group 26: Records of the Department of State; Subgroup: Records of the Corporation Bureau; Series: Charter Books 1812-1875; Charter Books, Volumes 1-7: 1812-1856.
