BIOGRAPHICAL STATEMENT
George Dummer, Jr. was a glass
manufacturer in
George Dummer (1782-1853) and his brother Phineas Cook Dummer (1797-1875) were born in New Haven, Connecticut. They were two of the sons of Stephen Dummer (1755-1835) and his wife Eunice Cook (1758-1816). Phineas served as mayor, fire chief, and collector of taxes for Jersey City.
SCOPE AND CONTENT

While the names of customers and business associates are documented, products are not listed. The volume provides a record of glass workers and the marketing of ware.
