BIOGRAPHICAL STATEMENT

 

Bayard T. Putnam resided in New York, N.Y. with his wife in 1878 and 1879.  He was a printer and publisher, apparently working for G. P. Putnam’s Sons.

 

 

SCOPE AND CONTENT

 

Consists of twenty-two bills, most made out on printed billheads, addressed to B.T. Putnam or his wife for a variety of household goods.  A stove, a "wire wove spring bed," silverware, glassware, fabrics, and furniture are among the items represented.  Included are four billheads for R. Heyman, dealer in parlor, chamber, and dining room furniture.  One billhead includes an illustration of a refrigerator.
