BIOGRAPHICAL STATEMENT

 

Kept by an unknown person in Nashua, New Hampshire.

 

 

SCOPE AND CONTENT

 

Consists of accounts related to the construction, furnishing, and repair of four buildings in Nashua, New Hampshire: the Pearl Street House (a hotel), a house on Olive St., a new house on Main St., and I. Spalding's house. An additional account notes amounts paid to the proprietors of the Pearl Street House.  Types of materials mentioned include planks, boards, blinds, joists, doors, chimneys, stones, and window frames.  A list of furnishings purchased for the Pearl Street House features such items as window shades, chandeliers, lamps, feather dusters, spoons and forks, and engravings.  Cost for the I. Spalding house includes cooking apparatus, plumbing, and heating fixtures, in addition to roofing, windows, doors, and the usual building supplies.  Also included is a menu for the Pearl Street House dated Sunday, Dec. 24, 1865.
