BIOGRAPHICAL STATEMENT
John Mehargue was a cabinetmaker
in the vicinity of
SCOPE AND CONTENT
Records debits and credits accrued by Mehargue from 1825 to 1848. He performed such activities as chopping wood, peeling bark, making and mending chairs and bedsteads, painting old furniture, turning hat blocks, fixing signs, and working on wagons. Farm tasks and products are also mentioned, including cutting grass and plowing. The last page of the volume features remedies for horse ailments.
