BIOGRAPHICAL
STATEMENT
Zaccheus Atwood was a weaver in Barre,
Massachusetts. He may be the Zaccheus
Atwood who was born in Bridgewater, Massachusetts in 1752, served in the
American Revolution, and died in Barre in 1833.
SCOPE AND
CONTENT
Records debits and credits accrued by Atwood for
such activities as trimming clothes, dressing and “coloring” (i.e. dyeing) cloth,
and making blankets, cloth, gloves, and shoes.
A variety of farm activities and products are also mentioned in the
volume, including plowing, planting, and selling butter. Notes about the settlement of accounts are
featured. Bills and receipts for
articles purchased by Atwood are laid in.
