SCOPE AND CONTENT

 

Contains receipts and disbursements relating to Babbitt's shipping activities as well as items purchased for personal use.  Entries feature such things as insurance on cargo, postage, and amounts owed for labor performed on frigates, schooners, brigs, etc.  Such objects as shoes, a pen knife, ribbon, ink, buttons, umbrellas, dry goods, sugar, coal, and young ducks are mentioned.
