A collection of miscellaneous     newspapers, newspaper clippings, and periodicals, from a variety of places.  Most items are single issues.  The early newspapers are chiefly of interest because of the advertisements.

02x73.1           The Country Journal, or the Craftsman, by Caleb D’Anvers of Gray’s Inn, [London?], Saturday, November 18, 1732. 

Part of a 4 page English newspaper; the bottom part of each page is missing.  Of chief interest are the advertisements, including an illustrated ad for Walker’s Original Clock-Lamp, Improved.

 

65x676            The Pennsylvania Packet or the General Advertiser, [Philadelphia,] printed by David C. Claypoole, Tuesday, May 14, 1782.

                        Four page newspaper; some articles and many ads.

 

10x1.1             Columbian Centinel [sic], Boston, Massachusetts, Saturday, July 2, 1791.

                        Four page newspaper.  Includes an article about a vote in Great Britain about the slave trade.  Also includes a call for bids to erect bridges in New Jersey.

Twelve pages (6 sheets) of pages from this children’s magazine, with stories, songs, poetry, pictures, and other items.  One sheet bears no date, but is possibly from a November issue.

Although dated 1981, the paper is a 19th century newspaper, giving news of the future.
