BIOGRAPHICAL STATEMENT

 

Thomas Prince Beal lived in Kingston, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, during the first half of the 19th century.  His occupation is unclear, but he may have been a lawyer.

 

 

SCOPE AND CONTENT

 

This collection of papers was compiled by Thomas Prince Beal between 1814 and1861.  Items include bills for such goods and services as clothes, wool, yarn, blacksmithing, painting, and window repair.  Several letters document personal engagements and payment of accounts.  Other items in the collection concern Beal's involvement in a legal case, Jarves vs. Freeman.  Among the documents are a letter, an abstract of declaration, and a statement describing the slander charges against Jarves.
