BIOGRAPHICAL STATEMENT

 

Randall H. Moale was a lawyer who lived in Baltimore during the first half of the 19th century.

 

 

SCOPE AND CONTENT

 

This small collection of printed and non-printed bills and receipts was accumulated by Randall H. Moale between 1816-1857.  Items he purchased included candles, drugs, clothing, and such floor coverings as Brussels carpets, matting, and oil cloth.  Numerous bills and receipts are for dry goods, including worsted plaid, Scotch plaid, muslin, and cambric.  Other items mentioned are fancy silk cravats, gloves, handkerchiefs, and straw bonnets and other hats.  One bill is from a chimney sweep.
