BIOGRAPHICAL
STATEMENT
D. (David) T. Sanders and Company was a general
store in
SCOPE AND
CONTENT
This collection of papers can be divided into two
groups: bills for items bought by the store and orders sent to the store from
loggers. The bills are for such items as
liquor, clothing, fabrics, needles, gun powder, cartridges, crackers, and
rubbers. The orders from various camps
were for flour, molasses, corn, tobacco, tea, clothing, hardware items, snow
shoes, hides, footwear, meat, lanterns, and wicks. There are also signed notes for the store to
pay an amount of money to the bearer or person named and to charge the amount
to the account of the signer. A laundry
ticket for D.T. Sanders & Son from the 1890s is also part of the
collection.
