BIOGRAPHICAL STATEMENT
Archie McLean Hawks was the uncle of Ruth Wales du Pont, wife of Henry Francis du Pont.
SCOPE AND CONTENT
Consists of correspondence, postcards, note cards, and telegrams about
Mr. and Mrs. Archie McLean Hawks and Ruth Wales du Pont. The collection also contains an original
manuscript, "Enchantment," written by Hawks, that describes his 1870
train trip from

Record group organized into four series: series 3 contains
correspondence; series 5 handwritten manuscripts; series 7 photographs; and
series 10 a telegram. Series 1, 2, 4, 6,
8, 9, and 11 are not represented.
